Our family and another stayed at the Wexford Heritage House for two weeks in August 2024. We were looking for a place that would be comfortable, peaceful, and would provide an authentic PEI experience. The home has been beautifully restored and was originally a farmhouse owned by Ron’s ancestors. It is spacious, clean and gave the 7 of us plenty of our own space. The home has a fantastic kitchen to prepare meals in and a beautiful dining room to enjoy them. There is a fire pit in the backyard where we roasted marshmallows in the evenings and watched the Perseid meteor shower. The home overlooks the Northumberland Strait and it is a short walk to a private beach that guests of the Wexford house are welcome to experience. There we waded into the sea, collected sea shells and sat in chairs enjoying the vista. It is a short drive to Cornwall where you can get the groceries you require. We ended up purchasing many items (firewood, eggs, potatoes, home grown vegetables) from the local residents that sell them from their homes. There is a great butcher (MacPhee’s) about a 10 minute drive away that sells locally farmed meats. Their beef steaks were absolutely delicious grilled on the BBQ. MR Seafoods, where bought our fresh seafood is a located a little further away on the way to Charlottetown.
Our kids, ages (11, 13 and 13) enjoyed exploring the potato fields behind the Wexford House, playing the nearby Countryview Golf Course, the Rise & Climb Ropes course in Cornwall and kayaking and digging for clams at Victoria by the Sea. We were fortunate enough to be in Victoria when a lobster boat came in and were able to purchase some to bring home and cook. And yes, there is a big lobster pot at the Wexford house to boil them up in.
It was our family’s first trip to PEI and I can’t image wanting to staying anywhere but Wexford House when we return again. Thank you Ron.Aldis Z.

This house has an amazing amount of character! You can tell this house has been a labour of love to get it restored to its current glory. Everything we needed was easily found and we had a very comfortable week long stay. The big yard was awesome for my 4 year old nephew to run around and play. The location was great for us, on a quiet road with a nice long driveway. Ron was very easy to communicate with and got back to us in a timely manor. We would stay here again in the future!!

Our family enjoyed our week in this beautiful home! The house was spacious and very accommodating for our group of 10. The outdoor space provided lots of room for the kids to run and play. We enjoyed having our morning coffee on the front porch. We loved the warm water and exploring at the private beach. Great location and a short drive to Charlottetown. Highly recommend!
